ABOUT ME

Originally from the UK, Mr Kaos and I have been lucky enough to call Christchurch home since 2014. As a construction Quantity Surveyor, I am heavily involved in earthquake rebuild work, spending my working days stomping around building sites in hi-vis, hardhats, and steel-capped boots. It’s not until after “tools down” that my passion and love for all things vintage and retro comes out to play.

I have a strong passion for retro fashion, particularly from the 40s, 50s and 60s. Immersing myself in the New Zealand Pinup scene I have been fortunate to meet so many lovely ladies through attending hair and makeup workshops, and seeing them at car shows and events. Over the last five years, the Pinup scene in Christchurch has exploded!

I drive a 1964 VW Karmann Ghia daily and have always been surrounded by Volkswagens, another passion of mine. My husband is a Volkswagen mechanic so my Karmann Ghia is fussed over and taken excellent care of.  My life revolves around Pinup and classic cars. What started out as fun, has become a day to day lifestyle for me. It's genuinely my passion and I like to inspire others to follow theirs too.

I am all about enabling and supporting women who share the same interests as me and want to grow as a Pinup, but most importantly, as a strong powerful Woman.

One of my favourite things about the New Zealand Pinup scene is the support we give to each other. I receive so many lovely comments, not just from the other Pinups, but from complete strangers in the street. I've spent hours bonding with other Pinups over things like favourite brands, and swapping tips and stories.

CHARITIES WORKED WITH

I enjoy being active and involve myself in various projects.  Whilst in the UK I managed car show events that raised money for the Essex Air Ambulance.

Since being in NZ, I have helped with the Kaikoura earthquake relief, which sent food parcels to the East-Coast town following the 7.8m earthquake of November 2016.

I'm part of the team at Rockabilly Show & Shine who organise events throughout the year and also raise money for local charities.

I'm also one of the members of 'Canterbury Pinup Belles' who like to organise events for local charities.  We recently raised $1,500 for a Christchurch pre-school by organising a Rock n' Roll dance.

I have competeted in Dancing with the Stars (Chch Edition), which helped raise money for Home & Family Charity
